Dear Santa
I wrote “Dear Santa” after losing my father to cancer. I was very close to my dad and his passing was the most heartbreaking thing I have experienced. This song came to me the very first time I opened my heart to write music again after his passing. It is one of those songs that I feel just got channeled to me, everything came straight away, the lyrics and the melody. I wrote it in both Swedish (my native language) and English and the song was a way for me to trying to work through my pain of loosing my father.
This is the second version of this song and I had the honor to work with the Swedish music producer Jimmy Lagnefors on this arrangement of the song. He helped me arrange it and he also produced it.
I also had the honor to have the Swedish pianist Olle Nyberg playing the piano accompaniment, recorded in Sweden.
The amazing late Jerry Peterson mastered it and also plays the saxophone solo. I am so grateful that I have Jerry on this song, he is one of the most amazing musicians I have met and worked with. Unfortunately we lost Jerry to Covid in December 2020. 😥
